The Snow Angel Story

One of the most intriguing subjects in the world of literature embraces tales of mythical, beautiful women shrouded in a Wintery environment of snow and ice. From Scandinavia, The Snow Queen, a favorite fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, portrays the struggle between good and evil as orchestrated by a bewitching, not totally altruistic, ice maiden. The Snow Queen, Snegnaya Koroleva in Russian, seemingly enjoys the havoc she spawns from the seclusion of her throne on the lake of ice.

Another tale, the story of The Snow Girl, Sneguroshka, incarnates its feature character in a number of romantic ways. In one tale she's Santa's curvy helper, sometimes granddaughter, dressed to kill in white or red lace or a form fitting blue frock. In another popular theme she takes the form of a girl made of snow brought to life by the longing of an aging couple for a daughter of their own. As the story goes, the Snow Girl finally melts into vapor as her heart warms to her lover.

Now, in time for the winter solstice, Anastasia celebrates this enigmatic manifestation of Russian women with Anastasia's Snow Angel 2011 Competition.

Today men can experience the Snow Angel epic for themselves in a Russian winter wonderland of beautiful and magical women.
